Celestron's innovative new EdgeHD telescopes are aplanatic Schmidt Cassegrain models designed to produce aberration-free images across a wide visual and photographic field of view. Celestron EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane more than three-times flatter than a standard Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. This guarantees you visibly sharp stars across some of the largest CCD chips available today. Superior edge performance not only creates rounder, more pleasing stars but actually improves the resolution and limiting magnitude when compared to telescopes of equal aperture. With Celestron's High Definition optics you will be able to capture the faintest of galaxies all the way to the corner of your full frame camera chip. Coupled with Celestron's XLT coating group on every surface, EdgeHD optics gives you maximum light throughput across the widest visual and photographic spectrum. The EdgeHD tube has been redesigned with top-notch features to make sure you get the most from your optics each and every night. Mirror locks hold the mirror in place and reduce image shift when rotating the tube around the mount. Flexible rods allow the mirror to be held in place without putting any force or pressure on the mirror, keeping the image centered in the eyepiece (or chip). Cooling tube vents located on the rear cell allow hot air to be released from behind the primary mirror. Each vent has an integrated 60 micron mesh filter guaranteed to let warm air out without letting dust in.

Celestron's CGEM-925 telescope offers advanced performance and mobility for stargazers seeking a telescope with robust technology and an easy-to-use interface. It features a 9.25" Optical Tube weighing only 20 lbs., and a telescope mount with a unique ergonomic design for ease of use and convenient mobility. Equipped with StarBright XLT coatings it can capture up to 33% more light gathering power than an 8" telescope. The CGEM-800 Equatorial mount was designed to be ergonomically friendly with large Altitude and Azimuth adjustment knobs for quick and easy polar alignment adjustment. The internal RA and DEC motor wiring provides a clean look and an easy and trouble free set up. The CGEM series has a new innovative Polar alignment procedure called All-Star (patent pending). All-Star allows users to choose any bright star, while the software calculates and assists with polar alignment. Another great feature of the CGEM, sure to please astroimagers, is the Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PEC) which will allow users to train out the worm gears periodic errors, while the mount retains the PEC recordings. For objects near the Meridian (imaginary line passing from North to South), the CGEM will track well past the Meridian for uninterrupted imaging through the most ideal part of the sky. The CGEM mount has a robust database with over 40,000 objects, 400 user defined programmable objects and enhanced information on over 200 objects.

The CGE Pro 1400 FASTAR Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope is part of Celestron's "Top-of-the-Line" German Equatorial mounted astronomical telescopes. With over three times the light gathering power of an 8" telescope, this observatory-class instrument is Celestron's largest optical system in its class. This model features our premium StarBright XLT coatings. This telescope is especially at home as a solid platform for long exposure astrophotography with optional CCD cameras or photographic equipment; it is a serious scientific research tool. With sophisticated software features like Hibernate function, the CGE Pro can maintain its star alignment night after night without needing to be re-aligned, making it an ideal instrument for a permanent observatory facility. The CGE Pro 1400 takes full advantage of its vast database of thousands of NGC and Abell galaxies as well as delivering a new level of detail to all your favorite deep sky objects. The CGE Pro 1400 FASTAR is equipped with a removable secondary mirror for fast f/2 CCD imaging. Not only does imaging in the FASTAR configuration allow for exposure times that are 25 times faster than at f/11, but also yields a field of view five times wider. (FASTAR imaging requires a third party lens assembly in place of the secondary mirror) In addition to being fully computerized with a database of over 40,000 celestial objects, the CGE Pro German Equatorial mount has been completely redesigned to offer numerous design advantages.

Vixen's unique catadioptric design features a high precision sixth order aspherical primary mirror, a convex secondary mirror and triplet corrector lens. VISAC is an abbreviation for Vixen's Six-Order Aspherical Cassegrain. The primary mirror is held by a retaining ring, instead of hooks to decrease flare and enhance constrast. The VC200L is an 8" f/9.0 highly corrected, highly specialized telescope for astro imaging. The VISAC provides high-definition star images to the edge of a wide viewing field and offers exceptionally outstanding performance in astrophotography. Even at the edge of the 35mm film format (larger CCD chips) stars are sharp (smaller than 15 micrometers). This is smaller than the resolution of fine quality CCD cameras, which means that the telescope does not limit the image quality. With its eleborate aspherical optical design it achieves an excellent image correction throughout the large illuminated field (42mm diameter fully illuminated). With the f/6.4 reducer you get much shorter exposure times. The reducer is a highly recommended optional accessory. The basic configuration includes a pigge-back camera holder. You can take photos both through the telescope and using a telephoto lens parrallel to the main instrument or you can use the VC200L for guiding while the camera sits on top.

With a large 206mm (8 inch) primary mirror and a 1000mm focal length, this reflector telescope rates at an awesome f/4.8. That means this reflector telescope is ideal for backyard astronomy and is a great introductory telescope if you are serious about learning all about astronomy. With that kind of light gathering power you will be able to observe deep space objects like nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, all while enjoying jaw-dropping views of the Moon, Jupter's Red Spot, and the Rings of Saturn. This heavy-duty dual axis motorized EQ mount gives you total control over your 8 inch telescope. Rock solid stable, it allows you track any object in the night sky with ease. Plus it has a built in polar alignment scope to make it easy to hit the North Star. Our Dual Axis Motorized EQ Mount comes with its own steel tripod. With both Right Ascension and Declination motor controls, you can track any object in the night sky with a touch of a button. To make your polar alignment easy, the mount has a built-in polar alignment scope, just look through it and aim at the north star. Plus, the RA controls can be set for either the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. This telescope comes with 3 Plossl eyepieces with storage containers, and a Barlow 2x lens.. Your telescope also comes with a dust-free cleaning cloth, a great map of the surface of the moon and a moon filter designed for reducing moon glare and making surface details more clear, and a poster of the solar system. The star finder scope is massive too. At 8x21, it is the largest finder scope we offer and makes stargazing that much easier.
