Light Pollution Reduction (LPR) Filters are designed to selectively reduce the transmission of certain wavelengths of light, specifically those produced by artificial light. This includes mercury vapor, and both high and low pressure sodium vapor lights and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. sky glow). The new ultra high contrast (UHC) LPR filter has improved contrast over the typical broadband filters. Sky background is darker, and contrast of emission nebulae are noticeably improved. The advanced technology coatings enable the filter to achieve an outstanding transmission of over 97% across the entire bandpass, with total blockage of prominent light pollution lines. The perfect filter for viewing nebula from light polluted skies, or for boosting the contrast of nebula from dark sky sites. Simply plug in the GPS receiver module in your telescope's drive base port, and you'll automatically be linked for downloading of information from any one of the many global positioning satellites. Controlled with the NexStar computerized hand control, you can expect stellar accuracy of alignment by providing precision that's impossible to be done by hand. Series 4000 Photo-Visual Color Filters: A significant aid in enhancing image contrast on the Moon and planets, Meade Series 4000 color filters thread into the barrels of all Meade 1.25" eyepieces, and into the barrels of virtually all other 1.25" eyepiece brands as well. The ND 96 Neutral Density filter is of particular assistance in observing the Moon with Starfinder telescopes, where the glare of the half-to-full Moon can be somewhat overpowering
